The theme of our conference this year is “Waves of Opportunity” and it promises to be a truly inspiring and educational event. For those of you who have attended our annual conference in the past, you can attest to the quality and variety of speakers that this event offers.

Wednesday and Thursday pre-conference learning labs will offer a variety of topics. On Friday the conference kicks off with Keynote Speaker Penny Kaye Jensen, DNP, FNP-C, FAAN, FAANP. Throughout her career, Dr. Jensen has been a strong advocate for and leader in nursing and an expert on nurse practitioner issues at the international, national, state and local levels. Immediately following the keynote presentation will be the 2015 Legislative Update. Members will also be asked for their input to formulate next year’s legislative agenda.

Friday’s lunch session will feature Robert Donaldson, FNP-BC, FAANP, who is the Clinical Director of Emergency Medicine and President of Medical Staff at the Ellenville Regional Hospital. Bob’s lecture is entitled, “The Nurse Practitioner IS a Leader”. Friday will conclude with regional meetings followed by a cocktail reception. This is a great opportunity to network with other nurse practitioners and students from around the state and to celebrate The NPA’s 35th anniversary as an association.

Saturday will begin at 8:00 am with our Annual General Membership Meeting to include the presentation of awards. Saturday’s lunch session will feature Michael Loughran, President of Aon Affinity Insurance Services in the Healthcare Division. Michael will present on “Stay Ahead of the Curve – Don’t Become a Case Study”. On Sunday concurrent sessions will end at noon.
